Mirror and Payload assembling

The mirror preparation consists in the glueing through silicate bonding technology on the mirror of th elateral spacers and magnets, of the back face magnets and front face camera targets. This activity is performed in Cascina by the Perugia team in a class 1000 room. inside a class 1 bench. To protect the mirror coating against any kind of pollution the mirror is kept in a mounting box, and only the part of the mirror that must be worked are exposed.

The Payload assembling is performed by the Perugia and Roma teams in a class 10 environment. It consists in the positioning of the marionetta on the mounting frame, the positioning and suspension of the mirror under the marionetta and positioning and suspension of the reference mass around the mirror

The mirror transportation and integration in the Virgo Towers is performed in collaboration, by the EGO, Perugia, Pisa and Roma teams
